24-7 Alberta Platform Project Request For Partners
The 24-7 Alberta Converged Web 2.0 Platform Project will develop a highly interactive online application using broadband to converge different media, and connect the community members, businesses, and communities of interest using them. Among the outcomes of the project:
Diversification and growth in local economies through small business development, including e-business
A deepened culture of use around broadband and greater digital literacy
Resilient communities more able to respond to challenges by drawing on local resources
An increase in social capital, one of the chief indicators of community sustainability
The 24-7 Platform Project proponents would like to work with four communities through the project period. The project will be initiated in Three Hills, with all aspects of the project then mirrored in three communities. The purpose is to test the validity of the 24-7 Platform concept in different settings and refine it for widespread application.
The Request for Partners closes on February 12, 2010. A full description of the 24-7 Platform Project will be provided to those communities that are approached as candidate partners after the RFP closes.
